DEFEAT at Leeds United on Saturday might have slowed the West Ham push for automatic promotion, but nobody at the club is giving up on catching the top two.
Both Ipswich and Wigan also suffered weekend defeats to ensure a three-way tie with Sunderland at the top of the table.
And the stuttering form of all the teams in contention at the top end is giving renewed hope to the Irons.
Not that Anton Ferdinand is worrying too much about the opposition.
"We have to concentrate on ourselves and win our games - that way the rest of the league can't do anything about us," he said.
"Promotion is definitely still on and results like the ones on Saturday mean we just make it more important to win our next match.
"That's going to be a big game, especially now Preston are above us in the table."
