Elaine Hemsworth, who has ovarian cancer, held the event at Maldon Town Hall on Market Hill on Saturday in aid of the Helen Rollason Cancer Care Centre Appeal.
Along with an army of friends, she laid on refreshments, book stalls, plant stalls, games and reflexology treatments.
"I'm overwhelmed at the support, the help and the donations," she said.
"It was absolutely brilliant, the town hall was packed and I can't thank people enough."
Mrs Hemsworth, of Narvik Close, Maldon, found out she had ovarian cancer in 2002 and had a major operation followed by chemotherapy.
