Planning chiefs think the £2.5 million award-winning interchange in Chorley, Lancashire, would be just the ticket for our town.

The council has already voted to scrap the current Queen Street site but will await eight weeks' further public consultation before rubber-stamping the plans.

Fierce opposition from campaigners, led by Save Our Bus Station, is backed by MP Bob Russell, the Labour group, Colchester Civic Society and other groups.
