A plane was grounded at Stansted Airport after a passenger said there was a bomb on board.
The Ryanair flight to Reus in eastern Spain was stopped as it prepared to take off just before 6pm yesterday. The cabin crew had heard a passenger make references to explosives on board.
The plane was taken to a safe area and searched for explosives by police. Nothing was found, and the plane was allowed to take off just after 8.30pm.
A 36-year-old Spanish man was arrested on suspicion of making a hoax bomb threat.
