Youngsters' needs in a deprived seaside resort are being put to the top of the agenda.
The Jaywick Action Group is looking at ways of improving the environment for all ages
It has staged regular meetings with the police and other representatives since it was formed last year in an effort to bring about changes for residents.
Now the group is to put out a survey to pupils at both Bishops Park College and Frobisher Primary School to establish their needs and desires.
Stephen Mayzes, 20, of Tendring Youth Council, is co-ordinating the effort.
"The aim is to find out the needs of youngsters and what they would like to see in the village for them," he said. "We hope to be able to change their quality of life and look at issues which are important to them."
