BILLERICAY Town boss Justin Edinburgh is hoping that the current cold weather warms up enough to enable his side to give tenants Chelmsford City a hot reception at New Lodge tonight.

A 12th successive home success would see Edinburgh's men rise to second in the table and within five points of top dogs Yeading.

Edinburgh said: "We've already had this game postponed once due to a frostbound pitch on New Year's Day and we'd love to play it tonight.

"The pitch cut up quite badly during Saturday's home success over Cheshunt and we've had a couple of really cold nights since then. It all depends on how quickly the groundsman is able to get on it to work.

"It will be a big disappointment if the match is off again. We're going really well at the moment and Chelmsford have shown big improvements under new boss Craig Edwards and have had some good results while moving up the table.

"We're all hoping that a decent sized crowd will brave the cold to get out there and watch looks set to be a really big game."
