Carnival-goers will be stepping back in time when they visit this year's Brightlingsea extravaganza.
The theme for the 2005 carnival, to be held on June 18, will be post-war Britain and the 1950s.
The definition means people can choose from not just the war-time era but the rock and roll, which was so popular in the 1950s, as well as much more.
The town's 55th carnival falls in the 60th anniversary year of the end of the Second World War, and organisers will be raising cash for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
