Campaigners have vowed to continue their fight to try to stop homes being built on part of a school site in Clacton.
More than 130 people packed a meeting of St Paul's Residents' Association and voted unanimously to keep up the battle against a scheme put forward by Cosy Developments for the Windsor School in Holland Road.
The company was refused planning permission in November but then resubmitted its application in January.
It hopes Tendring councillors will now change their mind over the proposal and give it the green light. But those at the meeting in St Paul's church hall were determined to maintain their opposition to it.
Ron Vincent, planning consultant for Cosy Developments, argued the site at Windsor School was brown field.
He also told how the firm was offering £70,000 to improve a play area as part of the application.
