Four people were taken to hospital after the car they were travelling in left the road.
The accident happened at 2.39am today on the northbound slip road of the A12 at Boreham.
An ambulance and incident support manager arrived at the scene within nine minutes of the call and found a single car, a silver Vauxhall estate with five people inside, had left the road.
Four people were taken to Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford, and treated for various minor injuries.
A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being unfit to drive through alcohol.
