A poorly cow was tended to by firefighters after it collapsed in a field.
The creature was unable to stand up and had spent the night in the cold at a farm in Chapel Lane, Kirby Cross.
Frinton fire crews were called into action and borrowed a rescue tender and specialist equipment from Colchester fire station to help get the cow on her four hooves.
A spokesman from Frinton fire said: "It had collapsed and was exposed to the frost. We used straps to get it back on its feet and back into the barn where it could recover."
They spent 90 minutes at the scene.
