SOUTHEND'S director of rugby Kevin Harman slammed his side following a disappointing 33-8 defeat at lowly Weston Super Mare on Saturday.
The Seasiders started slowly - with the strong wind in their favour - and were made to pay as the hosts ran in four second half tries to secure a comfortable victory and leave Harman fuming.
"It was very disappointing," he said.
"Our attitude in the opening 20 minutes wasn't good enough and we were tactically inept.
"We had the wind on our backs in the first half but didn't capatilise on it. After half time we were never in it and we gave away some very sloppy tries."
* There was joy for Rochford Hundred and Canvey Island after the weekend's games.
Rochford clinched promotion from London 4 North East after a tense 12-3 win at Wymondham.
And Canvey were crowned Essex Two champions after romping to a 35-7 success at closest rivals May & Baker
