The Saffron Walden Herts and Essex Building Society is planning to radically increase its agency network in the Tendring district and is looking for suitable partners.
The society's agencies are third parties which are authorised to offer some of its products - such as savings and mortgages.
Andy Golding, the society's sales and marketing director, said it needed a broader presence.
"It is not just society customers that benefit - local businesses get the opportunity to increase the number of customers coming into their premises and generate extra income," he said.
The society is searching for companies such as estate agents, travel agents, and insurance brokers.
