Canvey Island are likely to revert to a more attacking formation when they bid for a place in the FA Trophy quarter finals at Park Lane tomorrow.

Gulls, after some bad defensive errors in the two previous games, reverted to a four across the back formation at Hereford on Saturday with Lee Boylan as the only main striker.

The Islanders lost 1-0 at Edgar Street, but produced a much improved defensive display.

Even so, manager Jeff King admits he's unlikely to go for a safety first policy against a side playing a level below them in Conference South.

He said: "We haven't made any definite decisions about the line-up, but I doubt we'll stick to the same formation.

"Cup matches are a different matter from Nationwide Conference games, even though it's still vital that we don't contribute to our own problems by making silly mistakes at the back."

Canvey have a well-documented love affair with the Trophy after winning it in 2001 and being beaten finalists last season.
