The town woke up to a carpet of white yesterday, leaving motorists struggling for yet another day in freezing conditions.
Temperatures dropped to minus five last night and forecasters warned it could get as low as minus eight tonight. But for the youngsters it was snowmen, snowballs and tobogganing as the half-term holidays came to an end.
The council gritters will be out for a few days to come but weather forecasters are hopeful the temperatures will improve by the end of the week.
