Two defeats in successive home matches - it would have taken a brave man to bet on that happening to shell-shocked Ipswich Town.
Just over a week ago, sitting six points clear at the top of the table, they looked unbeatable.
Despite being far from their best, they were still grinding out results against tricky opponents like Sheffield United, Leicester City and Preston.
Now the outlook looks distinctly different and it just goes to show how quickly things can change.
The only crumb of comfort was the fact top-of-the-table Wigan Athletic went down 2-1 at Gillingham.
The game was only four minutes old when Rangers' Paul Furlong went to ground after a challenge by Richard Naylor. But he fell on the ball and was punished for handball.
The striker's frustration immediately turned to ecstasy, though, when Kelvin Davis slipped and his weak free-kick sliced straight into his back - leaving him clear to race forward and rifle past the Ipswich keeper.
You always sensed the visitors were capable of a second goal and so it proved late in the second half.
Martin Rowlands clipped forward a free-kick and Dan Shittu rose ahead of Davis to plant his header in the back of the net.
