Police carried out a series of dawn raids today and five men were arrested in connection with an alleged football-related disturbance.
Officers called on the men at 5.30am at their homes, four of which were in Colchester and one in Clacton.
The raids formed Operation Underground, a joint initiative between the Metropolitan Police and Colchester police, who formed teams to arrest the suspects.
The arrests stem from an incident on January 15 when Colchester United Football Club played Milton Keynes Dons in Buckinghamshire.
