Two women were cut free from a car following a collision in Great Totham.
Three cars were involved in a collision in Walden House Road, near the junction with Kelvedon Road, at about 12.15pm on Saturday.
A rescue tender from Colchester and two crews from Maldon attended the accident. It took the crews 45 minutes to cut the women free from one of the vehicles.
One was airlifted to Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford, and the other was taken by ambulance. Both had chest injuries, which were not life-threatening.
