Work has started on the Co-op's £500,000 redevelopment project to help modernise a town centre.
The creation of a one-stop superstore in Dovercourt, which will house four Co-op outlets under one roof, is now under way. Fiveways, in Main Road, has had its food section re-fitted, and that will open on Monday.
Co-op's Electronix, Homemaker and Travelcare outlets will also be transferred to Fiveways.
Willie Hamilton, retail operations controller, said: "Dovercourt has always been very important for the society and an investment of £500,000 demonstrates that we're committed to serving the community, and offering continued employment, for many years to come."
