New bathrooms and kitchens are to be put into council houses across the Braintree district as part of an £8 million project to refurbish 1,000 homes.
The refurbishment project is part of the next phase of the contract to refit homes in the district.
So far, 162 properties in Witham have already been completed.
Cabinet member Simon Walsh said: "This is good news for hundreds of families in Braintree and is an important new phase in what has been an exemplary project."
