Hull City will be looking to avenge their FA Cup third round defeat tomorrow.

Colchester United comfortably waltzed to a 2-0 victory against the high-flying Tigers, knocking them out in a competition manager Peter Taylor was eager to do well in.

Instead it was the U's who progressed to take on Blackburn Rovers in the fourth round at Ewood Park.

Craig Fagan and Gareth Williams were on target that day, and Fagan must have impressed Taylor as the Hull supremo launched a six-figure bid to try and take the striker to the Kingston Communication Stadium.

Colchester, however, kept hold of their top goalscorer, but you could understand Taylor's desire to sign the man who has scored 14 goals this season for the U's.

His own strikers have been poor. Hull's main strike force has all the menace of a kitten in comparison to Colchester.

Delroy Facey has scored six, Aaron Wilbraham four, Danny Allsopp (who will miss out with a rib injury) seven and Jonathan Walters (who is now on loan at Scunthorpe United) just two.

Compare that to Fagan's 14, Halford's nine and Williams' five.
