Across north-east Essex a total of 12 people have been dealt with in hospital for slips and falls relating to the cold weather.
Accident and emergency departments in Colchester, Clacton and Harwich have treated the injuries, several of which resulted in broken bones.
A spokesman for Essex Rivers Healthcare, which runs Colchester General, said many of the injuries were caused when people had been walking to work on icy mornings.
