Identical twin boxing brothers John and Danny Dignum are causing double trouble for their opponents.
For the 12-year-old Bowers Gifford duo both triumphed in the London Division of the sport's Golden Gloves competition.
While Danny beat W Smith (Marvels Lane BC) when the referee stopped the contest in the first, John was taken all the way before overcoming S Brown (All Stars) on points.
Now the brothers, who live in Windsor Road, are in action at Crystal Palace this Saturday when they fight in the overall quarter-finals of the competition.
Aged 12, John and Danny both belong to Newham Boxing Club and are pupils at the Appleton School in Benfleet.
Life has very much a sporting theme in the Dignum household as elder sister Denise, also an Appleton pupil, is a leading Basildon AC runner who has enjoyed success on the track and in cross-country at national and local level.
