Councillors from successful authorities are being drafted in to give tips on how to improve Castle Point, it has been revealed.
The scheme comes after the council was handed £300,000 from the Government to turn itself around following a damning inspection.
In the next few months councillors will take tours of their wards on foot with counterparts from other areas to make sure they have the right priorities.
Under a "critical friend mentoring" scheme costing £14,000, Tory council leader Pam Challis will also be teamed up with a leader from a successful council.
