Residents are being urged to attend a special meeting about a vote on the controversial container terminal.
Both supporters and opponents of Bathside Bay are urging people to make their feelings known at the special town meeting being held for people to vote on whether they want a parish poll about the plans.
If a parish poll goes ahead, the first of its kind on the Harwich peninsular, people will be asked: "Do you oppose the development of a deep sea container port at Bathside Bay?"
Campaigners said they will be out in force trying to get people to vote for a poll.
Jenni Meredith, of opposition group Residents Against Port Expansion (Rape), said: "It is important that our councillors have a true idea of how the people here feel about the plans they make decisions on."
The meeting is at 7pm on March 2 at Long Meadows community centre, Long Meadows, Dovercourt. It is for residents of the parish of Harwich and Dovercourt, who should bring proof of their name and address.
