A worried pensioner today called for urgent safety measures after a car ended up in her front garden for the eighth time in more than a year.
Eileen Lang, 61, of Leas Road, Clacton, said she was concerned someone would be killed unless action was taken.
In the latest incident, a vehicle was only prevented from ploughing into the front of her property after it hit a concrete post which brought it to a halt just feet away.
Mrs Lang said she and her husband, Tony, were now scared to sit in the lounge at the front of their home.
"It is just too dangerous and we are terrified that a car is going to come straight through the wall," she said.
Essex county and Tendring district councillor Roy Smith said he had taken up the problem with the authorities in the past, but would ask for it to be investigated again.
