An amateur footballer who got a police caution for an assault on a referee from Braintree will learn his fate tomorrow.
Cornard United player Nicky Guyon, 39 will appear before the Suffolk Football Association's disciplinary panel in Ipswich in relation to an incident which happened on January 8.
Police were called to a Ridgeons league first division fixture between Cornard United and Stanway Rovers.
Braintree referee Maurice Cook, 43, abandoned the game in the 65th minute of the game after he was assaulted by Mr Guyon.
Mr Cook reported the matter to the police and Mr Guyon, of Sudbury, later got a police caution for assault.
Mr Guyon could face a maximum of a lifetime ban.
