Two more members of the Colchester-based 3rd Battalion The Parachute Regiment were today named as facing charges over the killing of an Iraqi civilian.
The Solicitor General Harriet Harman said in a written ministerial statement that Private Monet Vosloo and Scott Jackson, who has since left the Army, had now been informed of the charges.
Earlier this month the Attorney General, Lord Goldsmith, announced that seven serving and former members of the regiment were being charged with murder and violent disorder in relation to an alleged incident in U'Zayra in southern Iraq in May 2003, in which Nadhem Abudullah died.
At that stage only three of the soldiers involved were named.
