Armill Lift Trucks, based on the Springwood industrial estate, fought off stiff competition to supply two new trucks for Braintree Council's recycling depot in Chapel Hill.
The company is one of the largest family-owned forklift truck distributors in the world.
Council waste manager Peter Chisnall said: "The two trucks are a pretty standard couple of workhorses which we will use for moving around recycling materials."
Gary Miller, director at Armill, said: "It's great that the council has decided to go local in buying the machines, helping to keep jobs in the area."
