An award-winning company is maintaining its flair for novel ideas by launching a new event dedicated to one of the world's fastest growing industries - makeovers.

AZTEC, based in Rochford, is launching its Essential Beauty and Body Show covering every variety of beauty therapy and image tweaking, from the briskest beauty parlour session through to major plastic surgery.

The firm has in the past organised highly successful events in south Essex including gardening shows.

Pam Upson, a director of what is now Britain's largest privately owned events firm, said: "Image is everything in the modern world and looking good is an increasingly major part of everyday life.

"A huge industry is growing to support this, and the good news is that it is all becoming increasingly affordable and available to everyone.

"But where do you go to check out alternatives and find objective advice? That was the thinking when we set up this show."

As well as displaying the multitude of products and processes on offer, the Essential Body and Beauty Show will also mount educational seminars.

The main emphasis, however will be on having a good time.

Mrs Upson said: "The show will provide a wonderful chance for visitors to spend the day preening and pampering themselves, in a thoroughly relaxed atmosphere."

The Essential Body and Beauty Show is set for September 17 and 18, at the Brentwood Centre.
