Organisers have been forced to slam the brakes on one of Maldon's most famous events.

Cabbie Day sees hundreds of disabled children travel to Maldon for the day in black London taxi cabs. The event has been going for more than 50 years.
But it has been cancelled this year after organisers had to pull out due to ill health and replacements could not be found.
Allan Lebby and his wife, Carole, have been organising the event for ten years. They said it was a wrench to end their involvement, but they had no choice.
"It has become harder and harder each year to get the necessary funding, and we are just not well enough to do the job properly this year. There is not enough time for it to be done now," said Mr Lebby, 66.
