Keen-eyed children have been thanked by a neighbour for raising the alarm when they spotted a fire in her house.

Ben Wright, nine, Alan Smith, 11 and Daniel Ward were playing when they saw a kettle on fire in Aimee Rickman's kitchen in James Street, Colchester.
They went straight to a nearby house and told the man there to phone the fire brigade.
Fire crews forced their way into the building through a window to deal with the problem.
Luckily, thanks to the boys' quick action, the kitchen only suffered a bit of smoke damage, and the rest of the house was okay.
