The boating lake and model yacht pond at Dovercourt had become strewn with rubbish and junk, prompting a thorough tidy-up.
A team of eight litter-pickers got to work on Saturday, fishing clutter from the water and sprucing-up the surrounding area.
Eileen Tyrer, of Harwich Environmental Action Team (Heat), organised the event and said they collected about ten bags of rubbish.
She said: "We had a very successful day and everyone did a fantastic job."
