Flats for schoolgirl single mums are set to become part of a new housing complex.
Eight apartments for young teen mothers are earmarked to be built on land at Mellow Purgess End, Laindon, as part of a mini-estate.
Basildon Community Housing Association (BCHA) is behind the plans to create the "mother and baby units" - exclusively for girls aged 16 and under - alongside 33 new homes.
The 12 derelict flats previously on the site have already been bulldozed.
