A nursery is looking to expand to keep on children who have grown too old for it.
Buckets and Spades Nursery, based in Dovercourt, already has about 60 children who are looked after outside of school hours. But now it wants to increase capacity to 100 so it can cater for youngsters between 11 and 13.
The club will be called Buster's and will offer bonuses, such as trips, sports and cycling proficiency.
Mary Piper-Kirtley, proprietor of the Low Road site, said: "We've been going eight years now, so the pre-schoolers are all coming up to senior school. Once they reach 11, we haven't got room for them, so we need to extend the provision."
The application for an increase in the number of children has been made to Tendring Council, which will decide whether to grant permission.
