SOUTHEND Swifts females hosted two basketball matches at Hockley's Greensward College - and emerged victorious in both.
First in action were the senior women in Division Two South of the National League and they triumphed 73-47 over Plymouth Racers.
Swifts were looking to maintain their position at the top of the table, while the West Country visitors, league champs for six years running, have lost a number of influential players over the past two seasons and are struggling to make an impact at this level.
Swifts second success was by a 90-51 margin over West Herts Warriors at under-16 level in the South-east Conference of the National League.
Next Saturday sees the seniors out on the M4 again to play Cardiff Clippers, whilst the under 14 team play their first home fixtures of the season when they welcome Chiltern and Ipswich to a triangular event at Greensward College, tip-off at 1 pm.
