Fears have been raised over the safety of badgers if a massive wind farm is given the go-ahead at Bradwell.
While the direct effect of a wind farm on badgers is not yet known, it is the potential effects of the building work which would harm the animals, according to Ken Fitzgerald, north-east Essex Badger Group co-ordinator.
Badgers are known to be in the area and last year the brakes were put on a plan for a possible wind farm near Tillingham because a wind-monitoring device was turned down due to a nearby badgers' sett.
Since then, the plans have been revealed for the wind farm at Bradwell featuring up to 26 turbines 125 metres high.
Mr Fitzgerald said there would be concerns over the animals in the area, which could be upset by the development.
