Civil servants are getting ready for strike action next month.

Public sector area workers are expected to take part in a walk-out on March 23.

Picket lines look set to be drawn in Harwich for the strike, which will affect some staff from Customs and Excise, Immigration, Trinity House and Jobcentre Plus.

The Public and Commercial Service Union is concerned about Government plans to axe a fifth of civil servant positions.

Hundreds of civil servants in Harwich took action over the proposals in November.
