Southend United centre back Adam Barrett responded to the taunts of his team-mates by bagging a brace in a vital 2-1 victory at Northampton Town on Saturday.
The determined defender headed home two second half corners to end a three-month barren spell in front of goal and secure an important triumph for the sixth placed Shrimpers at the Sixfields Stadium.
"All the boys have been given me a lot of stick lately saying my goals had all dried up," said Barrett.
"So it was great to get a couple at Northampton to keep them quiet for a while.
"But it doesn't really matter who scored - we just really needed to win.
"It was a massive result because they are just below us in the table and I'm chuffed to bits."
