FORMER Olympic medallist Frankie Fredericks was one of the visitors to Brentwood on Saturday as part of London's bid to host the 2012 Olympics.
The Namibian sprinter, who won silver in 100m and 200m at the Barcelona Games in 1992 and the Atlanta Games in 1996, was accompanying representatives from the International Olympic Committee, to Weald Country Park.
The park is the chosen venue for the mountain biking event and Stephen Castle, Essex County Council's cabinet member for sports and parks, was on hand to greet the guests and deliver a presentation about the history of the park, it's terrain and features.
