A judge spared a speeding motorist after hearing she was responding to a medical emergency.
Bronwyn Crafford was caught doing 43mph in a 30mph zone in Mile End Road, Colchester. But a court heard she was delivering vital medical supplies after a courier got stuck in snow.
"The hospital had a patient on the operating table who had been in a car accident and desperately needed implants," said Crafford, 27, of Longstanton, near Cambridge.
"They gave me a call and I came to Colchester hospital to pick it up. It was a genuine emergency."
She admitted speeding on January 27. District judge David Cooper decided not to endorse Craffords licence, but fined her £60 with £43 costs.
