A Rastafarian priest who was caught smuggling a kilo of cannabis into the UK has escaped with a £1,000 fine.
Pablo Romeo Kensmil appeared at Colchester Magistrates' Court yesterday for sentencing after admitting to possession at an earlier hearing.
Customs officers found £2,600 worth of vacuum-packed cannabis in a holdall as he got off a ferry at Harwich international port. Kensmil, 43, of Hawthorne Crescent, Slough, had claimed the bag contained badges for his congregation.
