A drink-drive suspect was brought to heel by a police dog as he tried to escape.
Michael Cannon, 22, ran off after police spotted him driving erratically in Clacton. Officers tracked him down but he refused to give himself up. Cannon finally surrendered after being bitten by a police dog.
Cannon, of Point Clear Road, St Osyth, admitted resisting police and failing to provide a specimen. Colchester Magistrates' Court heard he had similar previous convictions.
Cannon's pregnant partner told the court he was 'her rock'.
He gave Cannon a one-year rehabilitation order and endorsed his licence. Canon was banned from driving for three years and ordered to pay £100 costs.
