A woman who used cannabis to ease her back pain has been given a conditional discharge.
Hayley Griffiths, of Wingate Close, Braintree, admitted possession of the class-C drug at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court yesterday.
Denise Holland, prosecuting said police found 1g of herbal cannabis at her property on February 10. The court was told the 43-year-old was convicted of producing cannabis in 2002.
Griffiths bought a small amount of cannabis to alleviate the pain caused by a back injury, the court heard.
She was given a 12-month conditional discharge.
