A man burst into tears after he saw CCTV footage of an attack he made on another man.
Craig Tye headbutted the man and then punched and kicked him during the incident in Colchester town centre, but a court heardyesterday he remembered little as he had been drinking.
Tye, 22, was told by a Chelmsford Crown Court judge he had behaved in a "disgraceful" way.
Tye, of Harbour Crescent, Harwich, admitted a charge of affray when he appeared in court for sentence.
He was given a 120-hour punishment order and put under a night-time curfew for four months and told to pay £175 costs.
Tye was well thought of and was appalled by his behaviour that night, the court heard. He had expressed genuine remorse and it was doubtful he would be appearing in court again.
