Southend United reserves suffered a 2-1 reverse against QPR at Roots Hall yesterday as the Hoops netted twice in the final six minutes.
The Shrimpers second string had looked set to secure just their second league success of the season.
But, after a well worked Wayne Gray goal, former Canvey Island midfielder Adam Miller and Hoops forward Luke Townsend were both on target to leave Blues coach Paul Brush disappointed.
"We hate to lose at any level so this is no different," he said.
"We got ourselves into a good position but shot ourselves in the foot right at the end."
