Manningtree rail commuters are being urged to attend a public meeting in the town next week.
Following widespread complaints about the new timetable introduced in December, Manningtree Rail Users' Association has fought hard to get rail managers to meet travellers face to face.
But at the association's annual meeting on Tuesday night, fears were voiced that as there had been some improvement in the service, commuters might not bother to turn up.
"The timetable works well for the railway but not the passengers and it's an uphill struggle getting it put right," said chairman Derek Monnery.
The meeting in the Methodist Church Hall next Thursday is being hosted by Conservative MPs Bernard Jenkin and Tim Yeo, and is due to start at 8pm.
Those attending are being advised to leave vehicles at the Riverside Avenue East car park and walk from there to the South Street hall, as there is very limited parking.
