An all-day car wash organised by motor vehicle students at Braintree College took place to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
Staff at the college were asked to make a minimum donation of £2 and throughout the day there was a steady flow of cars to be cleaned.
Paul Hart, lecturer at the college, said: "This has been a really successful group project for the level two technical certificate students.
"They held a class vote to choose the charity they wanted to support and worked well as a team to raise funds for a very worthy cause."
The event raised £81.50 for the charity.
