Clacton Town eased to a 4-1 victory in their Ridgeons League premier division Tendring derby at home to Harwich and Parkeston.

Three goals in a stunning first half put them in the driving seat and they never looked troubled after the break.

Sean Hillier grabbed a brace - one in either half - with the others coming from Steve Daly and Dave Barefield.

Martin Calver made it 3-1 with a well-taken effort but it was too little, too late for the Shrimpers.

The game had kicked-off half an hour late because of floodlight problems.

AFC Sudbury won their potentially tricky fixture at Halstead Town at a canter.

The champions-elect disposed of Andy Clark's side 4-1 their first home defeat of the season, in front of 440, their biggest crowd.

Sudbury were virtually in charge throughout as Halstead could make little headway, losing two players Gareth Heath and Paul Miles through injury by half-time.

Sudbury took the lead through Andy Claydon and, although Simon Betts levelled matters before the interval, the visitors took control in the second period with goals from Simon Hyde, David Head and Gary Bennett.
