Heather Payne, administrator of St John's and High Woods Community Centre, is one of 450 voluntary sector workers invited to the big day out on Monda

Organised by the National Council for Voluntary Organisations, it is intended to promote the role played in society by community groups.

Mrs Payne said she was looking forward to meeting the Prime Minister and his wife, at a location in the capital yet to be confirmed.

"It came completely out of the blue," she said. "I thought it was a leg-pull at first, but now I know it's a proper invitation, I'm very proud to be going.
