Gas Recreation found Frenford Senior barring their way into the next round of the Essex Senior Cup.
The tie went to extra-time, but Gas lost out as they were beaten 3-1.
Meanwhile, in the Border League Reserve Cup, Coggeshall Town Reserves made it safely through to the semi-final as they beat Mersea Island Reserves 3-1.
And the Tommy Thompson Cup saw Lawford Lads Reserves despatch Alresford Reserves 5-3, to earn a home tie against Little Oakley Reserves, who had a 2-1 win at West Bergholt Reserves.
In the premier division, AFC Sudbury Reserves closed the gap at the top of the table with a 4-1 win over Rowhedge.
